Workers' Compensation Case Management

​

(Catastrophic & Non-catastrophic)

​

  •  Work in the capacity as a liaison and advocate for an injured individual between the physicians, physical therapists, prosthesis specialists, psychologists, speech therapists, nursing services, families, state agencies, employers, attorneys, and insurance carriers to assist in returning an individual to the highest level of functioning.

 

  • Provide medical reviews, facilitate research in literature and in medical facilities, and offer rehabilitation recommendations.

 

  • Develop a rehabilitation plan for both catastrophic and non-catastrophic cases.​

  • Coordinate medical services directed by the physician and approved by the carrier.

 

  • Obtain treatment plans from the treating physician and communicate with the carriers and attorneys involved in the case.

 

  • Contract and negotiate the costs for accessible housing and home services, nursing services, transportation companies and accessible vehicles.

 

  • Coordinate transfers and admission to specialty hospitals and/or long-term rehabilitation of care.

 

  • Negotiate contracts with various vendors and service providers for cost-effective quality products and services.

 

  • Analyze costs and provide projections.

 

  • Develop a rehabilitation plan for both catastrophic and non-catastrophic cases.

 

  • Assist with conflict resolution between parties.

 

  • Develop rapport with individuals with diverse backgrounds and roles to positively impact issues related to our goals and responsibilities.

 

  • Maintain and develop positive professional relationships for the purpose of networking and effectively moving a case.

 

  • Present to carriers cost-effective options to achieve their goals.

 

  • Remain knowledgeable of changes in laws or rulings pertinent to rehabilitation, case management, and certified MCO’s.

 

  • Serve on boards or panel discussions as requested.​

Legal Consulting

  • Provide expert witness in court on rehabilitation issues, both medical and vocational in the workers' compensation and injury field.

 

  • Communicate through written reports and verbal presentations to various parties.

Vocational & Ergonomic Evaluations

  • Facilitate labor market surveys and perform transferable skills analysis. 

 

  • Based on evaluations, coordinate retraining, adaptive devices, or job modification when medically necessary, which could successfully return an individual to gainful employment.

 

  • Facilitate on-site job analysis via written and video documentation.

 

  • Work closely with employers to optimize successful return to work.

 

  • Provide job placement activities to include job leads.​

 

  • Facilitate job coaching.

 

  • Provide ergonomic assessments and recommendations for individuals, assembly lines, or other workflow systems.​

 

  • Communicate recommendations to the employer regarding medically necessary restrictions, modifications, or other issues.

Private Concierge Medical Case Management

  • ​ Work as an ally to the client or family members to navigate healthsystems following acute, chronic, complex, or end-of-life medical issues.

 

  • Coordinate medical services, referrals to medical specialists, and provide guidance through insurance issues.

 

  • Healthcare crisis education and advocacy.

 

  • Assist in communication with all parties including attorneys, medical, and insurance providers.

Workplace Crisis Intervention & Stress Management

  • Provide short-term debriefings to employees for the purpose of assisting with the impact of workplace violence and/or other workplace issues.

 

  • ​Educate employees on symptoms of post-traumatic stress and effective interventions to minimize any long-term impact.

 

  • Provide recommendations for further interventions after assessing the situation.

 

  • Provide workshops and lunch/learns on various topics pertaining to stress management, communication, and counseling issues in the workplace.
